Feminized photoperiod

Desfrán is a legendary South American cannabis strain that has won numerous accolades at cannabis cups. It is the result of crossing Destroyer with itself, originating from a three-way cross of Mexican Oaxaca, Colombian Punto Rojo, and Meao Thai. Dutch Passion credits this variety to Alberto from Argentina, a master breeder and cannabis connoisseur, as well as the owner of Haze magazine. In our first collaboration, we aimed to introduce Desfrán to Europe.

She promises robust, fast-growing plants with significant height. Her buds, which feature foxtails, are highly resinous and sticky. The THC content typically hovers around 20%, though some phenotypes may exceed this level. Desfrán is a pure Sativa and a multiple award winner. Alberto's original Destroyer genetics have also secured several awards over the years.

Feminized photoperiod cannabis seeds that have been engineered to produce only female plants. These plants depend on changes in their light and dark cycles (photoperiod) to transition from the vegetative stage, where they grow leaves, to the flowering stage, where they produce buds. By adjusting the light schedule—from longer periods of light, such as 18 hours on and 6 hours off, to shorter periods like 12 hours on and 12 hours off—you can simulate the autumn season, which triggers bud growth. This is different from autoflowering plants, which begin to flower based on their age rather than light conditions.
